SECOND LATIN AMERICAN DESIGN BIENNALE
DECEMBER 2005
POSTHOORNKERK, AMSTERDAM

For the second edition of the Latin American Design Biennale, the Latin American Design Foundation joint efforts with Otro Diseño to show the work of 80 designers from Latin America.

More than 100 new design products from Latin America in the areas of graphic, furniture, textile and jewellery design are exhibited in the Posthoorn-church, situated on the busy Haarlemmerstraat in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. hOLAnDA 2005 is the second large European overview of Latin American Design, a follow-up of the successful hOLAnDA 2003. The exhibition shows top designers like the Mexican award-winning Mauricio Lara and Brazilian Unesco Design Prize winner Carla Tennenbaum, next to new talents from Cuba, Colombia, Venezuela, Costa Rica and Chile. Argentina is represented by a wide variety of designers, like Grupo 2x4 and the innovative multimedia brand Frank Lourenço. Brazil is represented by 28 designers that show a high quality overview of the latest developments in their country.

Parallel to the exhibition, hOLAnDA 2005 features lectures, a design dinner, and a jewellery catwalk.
